They erected a tent on Frazier Street and conducted a revival for six weeks. From this revival meeting, seven souls were saved and added to the Church, making this the first United Holy Church (UHC) in Georgia. History of the Florida District
Rev. Marie Weaver, a native of Birmingham, Alabama was a pioneer in Florida for the UHC. She was called to the ministry in 1930 and was serving under the leadership of Rev. Jeremiah Goodwin in Montclair, New Jersey when she responded to God’s call to go South.
On August 17, 1939, Rev. Weaver and her husband Bro. Raleigh Weaver moved to Eustis, Florida from Montclair, New Jersey. This move was the result of a vision; ““I had a vision and hearda voice saying “Go South and Build.” I was obedient to the voice of God ever mindful of the great truth spoken by Jesus, “Go work in my vineyard and whatever is right I will pay thee.“”” first
God led her to organize five churches and build two. Rev. Weaver was blessed to be married to a God-fearing man. Deacon Raleigh Weaver was a carpenter and brick mason by trade and did much of the manual labor, planning and building of the two churches. He gave his time, labor and money in every capacity. Faith Tabernacle UHC was organized in the home of Rev. Times Adams of Lisbon, Florida on November 9, 1939 with six members. Faith Tabernacle was built in Eustis, Florida in 1940 by Deacon Weaver on land donated by him and his wife. .
